Gertrude Elizabeth Myers was born east of Osceola MO. on February 20, 1907. She passed away February 28, 1983 at the Sac Osage Hospital in Osceola. She was 76 years and 8 days of age.
"Gertie" was united in marriage to Charles McCoy in 1925. To this union was born one son Herbert Melvin McCoy.
On August 1, 1931 she married Clyde Paris Eslinger and three children were born to this union. Clyde preceded her in death in 1950.
She was married to Alva Ray Myers on July 10, 1952. They lived in the St. Clair County area until Alva's death in 1978.
Gertie loved to travel and she new places and things. She lived for her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to seeing them when they came to visit. She was quiet and tried to help anyone in need. While not a frequent churchgoer, she strongly believed in the Lord.
She is survived by two sons, Herbert M. McCoy of Kansas City, MO., and Richard L. Eslinger of El Dorado Springs and Two daughters, Mrs. Alma L. Keith of El Dorado Springs and Darlene Scott of Stillwell OK.; one sister, Mrs Ellen Lessley of Fayette MO,; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Osceola Cemetery, under direction of the Randy Sheldon Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola MO.
